Ranges from $74.53 - $124.41/hour. Salary placement based on education, experience and other provisions outlined in the District's agreement with the Peralta Federation of Teachers.

Job Description
Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
The district invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in Chinese Language.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Chinese Language; OR
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Chinese Language; AND possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in another language or linguistics.
- May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Chinese. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
- OR the equivalent qualifications. Applicants who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form.
- Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college staff, faculty, and students.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cantonese and/or Chinese character writing (Calligraphy) is a plus.

- For non-Master’s degree disciplines, the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.

Copies of transcripts from fully accredited college or university institutions. - Travel expenses for the interview and selection process will be borne by the candidates.

- Appointment to the position is conditional upon the approval of the Chancellor.
Conditions of Employment
- Pre-employment requirements include Tuberculosis examination, fingerprinting, and immigration verification as per state regulations.
- District policy requires a Social Security Card on file following selection.
- This position is represented by the Peralta Federation of Teachers (PFT).
