Principal Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY
An Edah Educator will be responsible for nurturing the learning, culture, and growth of the Edah after school program. They will care deeply and work passionately with children and educators, and facilitate a number of different Hebrew language infused learning opportunities.
Classroom Planning- Contribute to continual development of the Edah program and curriculum.
- Work with the Edah Assistant Director to ensure that lesson plans are achieving desired goals.
- Plan and design Hebrew lessons, Chug, stations and activities with varying learning styles and abilities in mind.
- Work directly with students and support all aspects of the Edah after school program.
- Work according to individual and specific plans of students.
- Be open to learning together and observing colleagues in order to strengthen your own skills and knowledge.
- Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings and professional development opportunities centered around knowledge enrichment and inclusion work.
- Commitment to the mission of the JCC East Bay and knowledge of or commitment to learning about the Jewish community, values, and traditions.
- Work with administration on parent communication, and various administrative responsibilities.
The salary range for this position is up to $40.00/hour. This position is up to 20 hours/week. This position is not represented by the Union.

Minimum Qualifications REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Background and experience in Jewish education and arts education.
- Hebrew language fluency (native or very strong).
- Experience in a childcare setting or equivalent experience.
- BA in Education, Arts, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks, and develop and implement plans to efficiently meet organizational goals.
- Ability to lead a classroom of children.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to push/pull and lift/carry objects weighing 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit on floors and chairs, and to get up and down quickly.
- Ability to bend from knees and waist to help a child.
- Ability to maneuver in confined lavatories to aid children with toilet needs.
- Ability to respond without delay to needs of young children.
