Join us for an extraordinary journey through Africa's breathtaking landscapes as you develop your photography and filmmaking skills with our expert team. This combined Environmental and Media program with Wildlife Filmmaking offers you the opportunity to explore diverse platforms and captivate the beauty of African wildlife.

Working alongside an environmental and media company that raises awareness for African environmental issues, you will engage with a variety of clients, such as broadcasters, corporations, NGOs, and media outlets. You will gain practical experience in both land-based and underwater photography, building a versatile portfolio of authentic and captivating work.

The Experience

Our professional photographers guide you through the Garden Route, helping you produce stunning photographs of Africa's diverse wildlife and travel scenery. You may participate in client-based shoots to create marketing materials for advertising and social media campaigns.

The course also covers setting up your own business, ensuring financial stability, writing business plans, and effective marketing strategies. You will learn through a hands-on approach as trainers work closely with you throughout the process.

For wildlife filmmaking enthusiasts, the course offers the opportunity to develop, film, and edit your own wildlife documentary in an African game reserve. You will gain skills in camera operation, directing, producing, scriptwriting, and broadcasting while experiencing Africa's wildlife firsthand.

The combined photography and filmmaking adventure runs over 4 weeks, with the first and last weeks focused on pre-production and post-production, and a 9-day immersive experience living on a reserve to film your documentary.

Logistics

Your home away from home will be a local guesthouse located nearby in the Aalwyndal community, offering views of the Outeniqua Mountains and the ocean to immerse you in South Africa's natural beauty.

The guesthouse features 8 bedrooms and provides living rooms, dining rooms, balconies, and work offices to support your time in South Africa.
