As the Chief Human Resources Officer, you'll lead a dynamic group of HR professionals and empower the HR function while providing strategy and guidance to peer level executives within Ohio Guidestone.
- Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of Ohio Guidestone every day, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and ethics.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive human capital strategy aligned with the agency’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession strategies that ensure the right talent is in the right roles at the right time.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on organizational culture, talent strategy, leadership effectiveness, and performance.
- Serve as a strategic change leader, guiding the organization through growth, restructuring, and evolving service models with thoughtful workforce planning and communication.
- Provide strategic oversight of talent acquisition to attract, hire, and retain a high-quality, mission-driven workforce.
- Lead the design and administration of competitive, equitable, and compliant total rewards programs that support engagement, retention, and organizational sustainability.
- Foster strong employee relations by promoting open communication, equitable treatment, and a culture of trust and accountability.
- Drive internal communications strategy in partnership with the Communications team, leading change management and enterprise-wide communication initiatives.
- Design and oversee performance management and career development systems that drive accountability, engagement, and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations while proactively managing workforce-related risk.
- Develop and manage HR budgets, forecasting, and reporting to ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
- Oversee HR systems, technology, and data analytics to support business needs, enable insights, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Monitor emerging HR and workforce trends to enhance the employee experience, address evolving organizational needs, and introduce innovative people practices.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR leadership team, setting clear expectations and accountability standards across the department.
- Demonstrate positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- Demonstrate positive leadership, promote an inclusive work environment and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required;
Master’s degree strongly preferred. - 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 3 years serving as a senior HR leader for an organization or complex business unit.
- Demonstrated experience in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or other mission-driven environments preferred.
- Experience coaching and advising senior leaders and internal clients on talent, performance, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
- Mission-driven with a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact through people-centered leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and trusted partnerships with executives, managers, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, facilitate discussions, and present effectively to individuals and groups at all levels.
- Sound professional judgment with the ability to regularly exercise discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business and technology acumen, including proficiency with HR systems, analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health record systems.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and proof of insurance.
- Successful completion of required pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
