Position: *Summer Temp - Inventory & Logistics Assistant

Description

This position assists the Inventory & Logistics Coordinator by receiving, stocking and issuing parts, materials and equipment; researching parts and vendors to obtain optimum pricing and service for the College; training students; coordinating and conducting campus deliveries; aiding the inventory and logistics coordinator with daily functions such as keeping and balancing records of inventory movement and on‑hand adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates compostable material such as cups, plates, cutlery for college functions/events.
  • Assists with coordinating the daily operation of the storeroom including; receiving, storing, and issuing equipment and inventory control.
  • Electronically determines inventory needs and assists with orders to maintain proper counts.
  • Perform on campus delivery of items and performs retailer item pickups.
  • Keeps the storeroom floor orderly and free of debris. Responsible for keeping the college van cleaned on the inside and outside.
  • Responsible for daily floor walks and zoning & facing shelves.
  • Assists with researching products and vendors to secure optimal pricing for parts and supplies.

  • Experience in retail or warehouse setting, a plus.
Special Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment

  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word software
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate deliveries in a timely manner
  • Understanding of proper storage and handling of chemicals and EPA regulated material
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment
License, Certification, Or Registration Necessary
  • Valid Driver's License, required
  • Forklift operator's license, a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform manual labor
  • Routinely carry/lift 25-50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, squatting, bending, kneeling and traverse uneven ground.
Environmental Conditions
  • Indoor- office or warehouse;
  • Outdoor- loading dock or delivering supplies on campus.
  • Both areas could involve use of ladders and stairs.
Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment
  • Car, truck, forklift, computer, printer, typical office equipment
