The Manager will oversee the administration of federal and institutional aid programs while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. The Manager will assist the Director with required reporting and will serve as a liaison between SFAS and other departments. The Manager will work with the Systems Analyst on process improvements within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate Return to Title IV (R2T4) refunds based on federal, state, and institutional policies
  • Record and report federal work college/work study earnings each month
  • Identify community service earnings each year to assist the Director with submission of FISAP and Work College Expenditure Report
  • Reconcile federal grant funds, federal direct loans, and institutional loans monthly
  • Serve as a liaison to the Work College Program, Finance Department, and other campus partners
  • Record payments from non-financial aid funds (Discovery fund, Career Development, Internships, academic awards, etc.) and monitor for over awards
  • Work with the Systems Analyst on process improvements and serve as a back-up for the Analyst as needed
  • Assist the Director with additional reporting requirements and annual audit preparation
  • Provide general counseling to students as needed
Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred)
Experience Required
  • 3 years of experience in a Financial Aid Office
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner
  • Knowledge of federal campus-based, Pell grant, and direct loan program regulations from Federal Student Aid Handbook
  • Familiarity with Department of Education software and websites (FSA Partner Connect)
  • Detail-oriented
License, Certification, or Registration Necessary
  • Completion of various NASFAA credentials is encouraged
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds
Environmental Conditions
  • Professional office environment with interruptions due to frequent calls and/or visitors (students, staff and faculty)
  • Willingness to attend state, regional, and national training events at the discretion of the Director
Ability to Operate Vehicles or Equipment
  • Standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, etc.)
