Description
The Admissions Associate - Campus Visits serves within the Campus Visits & Events area of the Office of Admissions. The Associate will impact future generations of Bereans through participation in the planning and execution of a variety of campus visit and event experiences devoted to prospective students, families, and student advocates. This position is campus-based and oversees three physical spaces providing best-in-class hospitality for all guests.
The Associate will serve as a Labor Supervisor to a team of students and, in collaboration with the Campus Visits & Events Team, supports the planning of large and small group on-campus visit experiences, and the organization and implementation of on-campus events and yield visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Campus Visits team to plan and coordinate large and small group visits
- Through management of assigned student team, provide a best-in-class overnight hospitality experience for guests
- Serve as Labor Supervisor for the team of Hospitality Assistants
- Maintain the upkeep (cleanliness and work orders) of Admissions facilities:
Sturt Cottage, Jack’s House, and Haaga House - Serve on the Campus Visits Team, participating in a team approach to daily tasks and projects including mainline/front desk coverage and transportation for visitors
- Conduct campus tours and information sessions as needed
- Support all visit experiences, including yield visits and on-campus events
- Periodically order office supplies
- Complete administrative tasks, duties and responsibilities (e.g., expense reports, email) in a timely manner while maintaining quality customer service
- In support of Berea College’s commitments, this position requires student supervision. The supervision includes scheduling, assigning, and approving work, developing students about common workplace acumen, and providing tangible work experience. - Bachelor’s Degree earned from Berea College within the last 2 years
- Student leadership or student management experience required
- Hospitality, customer, or guest services experience a plus
- Affinity for people and energetic attitude about serving guests
- Solid organizational skills
- Developed written and verbal communication
- Capacity to engage information software systems
- Demonstrated initiative and follow-through of projects and tasks
- Attentive to details
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Sitting, standing, walking; periodically able to lift and carry 25 lbs
- Must be able to conduct computer use for extended periods of time
- Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
- Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff and faculty
- Occasional nights and weekends are required for events and visits
- Occasional travel is required for off-campus events, meetings, conferences, etc.
- Reliable transportation required
