Description
Works under the supervision of the Audio Visual Engineer II and assists the Director of Signature Events as needed. Responsibilities include providing media equipment and technical services for campus events ranging from self‑service equipment checkout to full operation of lighting, sound, and video production for large events with internal or external audiences. Supports scheduled campus events, works with customers to identify scope and requirements, procures necessary equipment or support, and prioritizes demands based on available resources and skillset.
Provides high‑level customer service and reads and evaluates artist Technical Riders for live events.
- Work with the Audio-Visual Engineer(s) to ensure audiovisual needs are met for all designated events, including planning meetings, set‑up/tear‑down, sound checks, etc.
- Collaborate with producers of large events such as Convocations and Commencement to define and arrange required technical services from in‑house and/or external resources.
- Recommend audio‑visual technology options for event venues.
- Manage audio‑visual equipment inventory of portable systems and event venue installed systems, including routine maintenance, testing, repairs, upgrades, check‑out and check‑in processes.
- Cover occasional evening and weekend event support assignments.
- Maintain current knowledge of equipment and best practices for event media support, including videography, audio engineering, lighting, and pre/post‑production media resource preparation.
- Organize and perform preventive maintenance of event equipment and technical spaces to ensure proper function and availability of equipment.

- Relevant coursework or experience preferred.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, team‑oriented live event support environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of lighting, video, audio, and media equipment for both presentation and production.
- Demonstrated experience with AV equipment, such as Crestron or Extron, lighting, sounds.
- Ability to diagnose and repair audio‑visual equipment configurations and software/hardware problems related to the production and presentation of digital content.

- May require ability to push equipment or carts around campus.
- Extended hours of physical event preparation needed for larger productions.
- Must be able to navigate campus and campus buildings independently.
- Generally work in a standard office environment, but often required to work in other campus buildings, facilities or even off‑campus locations.
- Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors and callers.
- Event spaces may occasionally have higher levels of noise due to nature of events.
