Summary:
The Senior Manager is responsible for leading new store projects from initial capital approval to grand opening. This role oversees the entire project lifecycle, managing design, entitlement, and permitting processes with local and state jurisdictions. Projects typically span two to five years, requiring expert coordination across multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Oversee all phases of new store development projects, from Walmart’s capital approval to final permits and grand opening.
- Manage the scope, schedule, and budget for each assigned project to ensure alignment with business goals and successful project execution.
- Navigate local and state entitlement, permitting, and design processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate a team of external architects, engineers, and professional consultants, guiding them through the complexities of each project.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Walmart and external partners, fostering strong working relationships to drive project success.
- Monitor project progress, proactively address risks, and implement solutions to overcome challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in real estate development, specifically managing large-scale, multi-year projects from concept through completion.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams of external architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Deep understanding of local and state permitting, entitlement, and design processes.
- Exceptional project management skills, including expertise in scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the agility to navigate complex regulatory environments and overcome project obstacles.

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and 3 years’ experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related area.
- OR 5 years’ experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related area.
- Managing profit and loss reporting.
- Managing project budgets.
- Project Management (PMP certification).
- Masters:
Business Administration.
