Position Summary...
The Walmart Connect Sales Strategy and Enablement team is seeking an experienced, visionary leader to spearhead our newly formed Retail Strategy and Operations (RSO) team. This critical role will lead a team of strategists, program managers, and operations subject matter experts across diverse retail disciplines. The Senior Director will drive enterprise‑wide enablement initiatives and set the standard for excellence across the Walmart US ecosystem.
In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across Merchandising, Site, Marketing, Walmart+, Data Ventures, and other key areas of the Walmart enterprise to shape long‑term strategy, build operating frameworks, and establish best practices that deliver measurable business outcomes.
This position requires strong executive presence, strategic foresight, and the ability to influence at the highest levels. You will foster partnerships to ensure Walmart Connect is fully integrated into enterprise priorities. As a leader of leaders, you will guide teams to create scalable processes, drive measurable impact, and build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
What you’ll do...This dynamic, first‑of‑its‑kind role will oversee the newly formed Retail Strategy and Operations team within the Walmart Connect Sales organization. The Senior Director will lead a team of leaders managing high‑exposure enterprise programs across Walmart US, co‑creating trailblazing business strategies and operating frameworks with Merchandising, Site, and Marketing. Additionally, this leader will forge new ways of working with Store Operations as Walmart Connect’s senior business lead for our Stores Ads business.
EnterpriseStrategy
Own multiple high‑visibility enterprise work streams, acting as the driver and face of Walmart Connect to align strategies and KPIs across Walmart US.
Lead cross‑functional strategic initiatives that enable sales, elevate stores as a media channel, and unlock new monetization opportunities.
Partner with leaders inside and outside of Walmart Connect to position WMC as a world‑class retail media leader, influencing industry standards and advancing Walmart’s leadership in commerce and advertising.
Support and scale the Enterprise Enablement team, ensuring WMC sales strategies align with Enterprise assortment priorities (e.g., MSP, CVP) and key business initiatives.
Design and implement enterprise‑wide processes and SOPs to embed retail media into Walmart’s commercial planning cycles.
Build and present compelling business cases and ROI frameworks to demonstrate value creation and influence senior stakeholders.
Own, drive, and optimize the One Walmart (1W) enterprise business planning framework in collaboration with Merchandising, Site, and Enterprise Marketing.
Create and roll out organization‑wide playbooks and training programs to scale best practices across SBUs.
Lead the newly formed Store Ads Enablement function led by the Director of Enterprise Enablement and the Director of Experiential ensuring customer‑first, brand‑safe experiences across Walmart’s in‑store media network.
Support the scaling of the 1W enterprise operating framework to Store Operations stakeholders across our 4,700+ US stores.
Support Stores team to develop Walmart’s first in‑store ads governance policies, content standards, and device management processes.
Serve as Walmart Connect’s senior business lead for Stores Ads, overseeing the total Store ads business including WBRs, QBRs, and pipeline management.
Oversee the partnership with the Retail Brand Experiences (RBX) team in Enterprise Marketing to ensure alignment with the “Store as a Media Channel” strategy.
Own Store Ads device and content management systems to ensure operational excellence and flawless execution.
Inspire, coach, and develop a high‑performing leadership team.
Establish a culture of curiosity, resilience, and continuous learning.
Encourage diverse perspectives and foster collaboration across functions, geographies, and cultures.
