OverviewWhat you’ll do:
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead an agile team for Sam's Club Scan and Go, the most successful Scan and Go offering in industry, loved by Sam's Members. Beyond execution and timely delivery, you will motivate, inspire and lead through technical excellence a talented team of backend, mobile and quality engineers.
- Timely execution of a product and technical roadmap, beyond delivering for the business we are always looking at improving robustness and quality of our application.
- Working closely with partners across disciplines. We work very closely with product design as well as engineering partners across multiple teams, to succeed in this role you truly must be a team player and fantastic partner.
- Being hands on in the career of the associates that report to you. This involves hiring, providing growth opportunities, encouraging and mentoring engineers as well as providing timely feedback on their performance.
- Truly living the culture of servant leadership.
- A successful candidate will be empathetic and team oriented, they will want to enable their team to succeed and do anything in their power to unblock their team.
- An engineering manager should have a strong member centric viewpoint, they should be enabling their teams by looking at the product from the eyes of a member. They should be looking for ways to improve the product and come up with ways along with the technical experts on their team to execute on this vision.
- Experience with an in-club/store checkout platform is important in this role. Sam s Scan and Go is very nuanced and experience working in similar such areas would be helpful experience to bring to the role.
