The VP of AI Product will be the visionary leader responsible for defining and executing PLTFRM’s AI roadmap. This role sits at the intersection of retail expertise and cutting‑edge technology, tasked with building AI‑driven tools that transform how we deliver retail analytics, market insights, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a "builder‑leader" who can design LLM‑based solutions, automate complex workflows, and serve as an AI Evangelist to shift the organization toward an AI‑first culture.
Ideally, the perfect candidate will live in Bentonville, Arkansas, or Minneapolis, MN, but is open to remote employment.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the AI product roadmap aligned with company strategic goals and client needs across the CPG sales and digital agency landscape.
- Lead the design, build, and deployment of AI‑driven tools for sales reporting, retail analytics, market insights, digital media performance improvements and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and integrate LLM‑based solutions (e.g., GPT, Claude, open‑source models) for internal knowledge retrieval, content generation, and decision support.
- Design and optimize n8n workflows (or equivalent automation platforms) to streamline data ingestion, reporting, and cross‑functional processes.
- Serve as an AI Evangelist to the internal team and lead the charge on shifting the culture to embrace the use of AI on an everyday basis.
- Serve as the strategic bridge between technical data teams, internal sales/operations, and external brand clients, ensuring all products directly serve commercial needs.
- Champion an "AI‑in‑the‑loop" culture across the organization, redesigning existing workflows so human teams focus on review, strategy, and relationship‑building rather than manual data pulls
- Present product roadmap updates, digital trend analyses, and strategic recommendations directly to C‑suite leadership and key brand partners.
- Partner with data teams to build scalable dashboards and automated reports using retail data sources that has AI features integrated.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into compelling, client‑ready narratives and presentations for retail buyers and brand partners.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI for predictive analytics, demand forecasting, assortment optimization, and shelf‑level insights.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field. - 10+ years of experience in product management, analytics, or technology roles, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML product development.
- Deep understanding of CPG industry dynamics including retail brokerage, category management, trade marketing, and supply chain.
- Hands‑on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, and embedding models.
- Experience at a CPG broker, manufacturer, or retailer in a data or analytics leadership role.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stack tools (Fabric, dbt, Snowflake, Big Query).
- Background in Python, SQL, or other programming languages for data analysis and prototyping.
- Track record of launching AI products that delivered measurable business impact and ROI.
