About the RoleThe People & Culture Generalist supports teammates and managers across the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, manager coaching, and on-the-floor people support in a fast-paced factory environment. This role serves as a trusted, visible presence for employees, helping leaders navigate performance conversations, address concerns early, and apply consistent, people-first practices.
In partnership with the People & Culture leadership, this role supports core HR operations including payroll, benefits, compliance, and engagement initiatives, while contributing to a positive and high-performing workplace.
What you will do- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations, handling concerns, conflicts, and questions with empathy, consistency, and discretion for the evening and weekend shifts
- Coach and advise managers on day-to-day people leadership topics including performance conversations, feedback delivery, attendance concerns, and team dynamics
- Partner closely with HR Leadership on investigations, corrective action, and documentation, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
- Maintain a strong on-the-floor presence, building trust with hourly teammates, and proactively identifying morale, engagement or performance issues
- Support performance management processes, including coaching managers through performance improvement plans and ongoing development conversations
- Champion the eko "people first" culture by modeling values-based decision making and fair, consistent consistent people practices
- Support onboarding and off-boarding experiences to ensure teammates feel informed, welcomed, and supported throughout transitions
- Administer benefits and leave programs, helping employees navigate options with clarity and care
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
- Partner with leaders to implement engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, and culture-building programs
- Be on call during scheduled shifts to support time-sensitive people issues, particularly during evening and weekend operations
- Contribute to People & Culture projects that improve manager effectiveness, employee experience, and operational consistency
- Minimum four (4) years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist role
- Solid understanding of HR practices, payroll, and employment law
- Experience processing payroll and / or supporting an hourly workforce
- Proficiency with HR platforms (Bamboo HR, Just Works, or similar)
- Experienced and adept at resolving employee relations matters
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
- A collaborative and approachable style that reflects the eko values
- Comfortable taking direction and adapting quickly
- Experience in a fast-growth or startup environment
- This is an on-site at the eko Capture Factory in Northwest Arkansas
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to circulate through the warehouse and have a presence on the floor
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach regularly
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment which may include exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise
- This position operates primarily within a factory setting
