About Crystal Bridges

Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.

The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary art’s role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action.

Position

Summary

The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming, informative, and seamless experience for all guests, helping to broaden our mission and profile, increase guest satisfaction, and enhance the overall visitor experience. Our Hosts exhibit exemplary service, serving as the first point of contact and leaving a lasting, positive impression on every guest.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of exhibitions, performances, history, and events.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Tower Bar’s hours of operation, services, menus, specials, and “Edible Responsibility.”
  • Greet and seat guests in a timely, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow using appropriate tools and systems.
  • Provide an atmosphere aligned with our mission and vision.
  • Deliver consistent, high-level service through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entryway.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure smooth table turns and guest satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate information to guests regarding menu offerings, events, and venue layout.
  • Monitor guest wait times and offer solutions to enhance the guest experience when delays occur.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and presentation in guest-facing areas.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to guest inquiries or concerns.
  • Support service team during peak times with guest engagement and way finding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills

Education, Training, and Traits:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Excellent people skills and an outgoing personality
  • Possess a strong commitment to customer service
  • Highest ethics in regard to honesty, integrity, and work ethic
  • First-hand knowledge of service steps and dining room procedures

Work Experience:

  • Experience with customer service in a hospitality environment
  • Previous experience as a Bartender required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Must be able to move quickly, stand, bend, and lift for periods of up to 4 hours
  • Ability to carry large, heavy trays
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism with both co-workers and Museum Guests
  • Possess strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
