Who We Are

Founded in 2021, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is a nonprofit, four-year MD program that will enhance traditional medical education with the arts, humanities, and whole health principles. The school’s culture embraces self-care to empower students to care for their own well-being as well as their patients’. The school’s state-of-the-art medical education facility is in Bentonville, Arkansas on the Crystal Bridges campus, home to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Heartland Whole Health Institute.

The school has been granted preliminary accreditation status by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.

About The Position

The Program Coordinator, Clinical Affairs, has a unique opportunity to work with the Clinical Affairs team to build a clinical education program within the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM). The program coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the smooth operation of the clinical education curriculum throughout the third and fourth years. This includes core clerkships and senior rotations including Sub-Internships, Critical Care rotations, and elective rotations.

The program coordinator provides and manages essential administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, the Associate Dean for Clinical Research, and the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education, to ensure seamless execution of these critical components of the clinical curriculum. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks effectively, ensuring that all aspects of clinical education in the third and fourth years run smoothly.

Essential

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary point of coordination for Clinical Affairs, ensuring effective communication among leadership, faculty and clinical affiliate sites.
  • Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for clinical research initiatives, addressing questions and resolving issues.
  • Develop and maintain systems for organizing clinical and administrative schedules, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor timelines and deliverables, proactively identifying risks and solutions to keep tasks on track.
  • Manage projects simultaneously using advanced organizational skills and independent judgment.
  • Prepare and oversee development of presentations, reports, and briefing materials for leadership and external partners, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of Clinical Affairs operations.
  • Stay informed on best practices in clinical programming and apply insights to optimize workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • 3-5 years of full-time administrative support experience, required
  • Experience in process improvement and project management, required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including editing abilities, required
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, required
  • Strong problem-solving skills including efficient task prioritization and delegation as appropriate, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Instructional Technologies and ability to learn new software applications, required
