We are looking for a versatile and organized individual to join our Service Department as aWarranty Administrator & Service Cashier. The Role: This hybrid position is the heartbeat of our Service Department. You will be responsible for the technical processing of warranty claims to General Motors to ensure the dealership is paid, while also serving as the final point of contact for our customers as they pay for their services. You will bridge the gap between accurate paperwork and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warranty Processing: Prepare, submit, and track warranty claims to General Motors, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Customer Cashiering: Process customer payments for service and parts (cash, credit cards, checks) and close out Repair Orders (ROs) efficiently.
- Claim Corrections: Identify, correct, and resubmit rejected warranty claims to maximize dealership revenue.
- Balancing: Reconcile the cash drawer daily and prepare deposits; reconcile warranty schedules to ensure payments are received.
- Documentation: Audit repair orders for proper documentation (signatures, punch times) before closing or submitting.
- Customer Service: Provide a friendly and professional experience for customers picking up their vehicles, answering basic billing questions, and retrieving keys.
- Filing & Admin: Maintain organized files for warranty records and customer service invoices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in an automotive dealership (Warranty or Cashiering) is preferred.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to catch errors in paperwork and handle money accurately is essential.
- GM Knowledge: Familiarity with General Motors warranty policies or GM Global Connect is a major plus.
- People Skills: A positive, friendly attitude is required, as you are the last impression the customer has of our dealership.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with computers and dealership management systems (DMS).
- Multitasking: Ability to switch gears quickly between focused paperwork and helping a customer standing at the counter.
