Title: Site Supervisor for Child Enrichment Services Adventure Club
Qualifications: 21 years or older with a high school diploma or GED, will obtain Out of School Time Credential
Reports To: Program Coordinator and Team Leader
Supervises: Group Teachers
Location: Bentonville School District Elementary or Middle Schools
Date Reviewed: 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2024

Job Goals: Provide general direction and oversight to the program and staff. Ensure Minimum Licensing and Better Beginnings requirements are met on a daily basis to safeguard the highest quality learning environment for the youth and families served.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Value:
Interactions with Youth
  • Plans for and implements pleasant arrivals and departures.
  • Uses routines as a time to build relationships and learning opportunities.
  • Shows respect for youth and encourages respectful interactions.
  • Uses language to build relationships and strengthen youth's social and emotional competencies.
  • Uses indirect and direct guidance techniques including Conscious Discipline strategies.
  • Supports youth as they learn to resolve their own conflicts. Works with group teachers and families to monitor documentation and/or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Strives to meet each youth's individual needs.
  • Knows group locations and counts at all times. Ensures staff have a system in place for knowing counts at all times.
  • Activities and Environment
  • Maintains a clean, organized, inviting environment that is safe and developmentally appropriate.
  • Supervises staff to ensure a variety of engaging learning experiences through weekly lesson plans.
  • Ensures that staff use the outdoors as part of the learning environment.
  • Assists staff in providing guidance for the development of good health habits.
  • Ensures staff follow a daily schedule to meet the needs of individual youth and routines are established.
  • Monitors shared space to ensure it is kept neat and organized.
  • Ensures materials are rotated and sanitized & recalled or broken items are disposed of. Online list of recalls is available to parents.
  • Ensures staff maintain youth portfolios & update weekly.
  • Oversees staff for successful implementation of Program Quality Assessment standards.
  • Lifts 10-30 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Professional Responsibilities
  • Meets and monitors staff for program attendance requirements.
  • Submits time off and clocks in/out at assigned time in Frontline. Is punctual.
  • Maintains and monitors staff for professional appearance following the program dress code.
  • Open to new ideas and take initiative.
  • Accepts responsibility for all job-related tasks, including documentation and record keeping.
  • Meets and monitors staff for program expectations regarding job performance as outlined in the personnel handbook.
  • Meets and monitors staff for professional development expectations as outlined in the personnel handbook.
  • Attends and ensures staff attend all staff meetings.
  • Knows and ensures staff follow emergency and risk management procedures.
  • Observes and coaches staff to increase or correct knowledge and skills.
  • Keeps team leader and program coordinator apprised of individual youth and site's status.
  • Completes all Better Beginnings requirements.
  • Accepts all assignments given by supervisors.
  • Ensures all program requirements are maintained: minimum licensing, program policies and PQA expectations.
  • Completes yearly self-evaluation.
  • Uses good judgment and keeps information confidential.
  • Interactions with Parents and Staff
  • Works to build positive relationships with parents, co-workers, school personnel and others.
  • Communicates effectively with parents, co-workers and others daily; avoids gossip.
  • Works as part of a team with concern for the entire program and is flexible.
  • Assists in planning family involvement activities to strengthen families.
  • Additional qualifications include enjoyment of youth, good mental and physical health, respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, willingness to complete training requirements, and willingness to undergo regulatory checks required by law.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Based on Child Enrichment Services Salary Schedule.

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated based on the Child Enrichment Services Personnel Handbook and District's Classified Personnel Evaluation.
