Business Management, Business Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst, Operations Manager
Position Summary
In this Manager position under the Trust and Safety pillar of our Last Mile Delivery (LMD) team, you will own the end-to-end fraud prevention strategy and day-to-day operations that protect our marketplace, customers, and stores, while minimizing friction for good users. This role blends data-driven fraud detection with field investigations, requiring both analytical and investigative expertise. You’ll lead a team of analysts, partner closely with Global Investigations (GI) and Asset Protection (AP), and work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Driver Experience teams.
The role requires flexibility, autonomy, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Set and execute the fraud prevention strategy across identity, onboarding, account integrity, transactional/abuse vectors, and field investigations.
- Oversee prevention operations: manage queues and controls (manual review, device/sign-in defenses, policy enforcement) to efficiently block bad actors and preserve the customer experience.
- Conduct deep-dive data analysis to identify trends, investigate potential fraud, and distinguish between actual fraud and false positives.
- Translate strategy into quarterly OKRs and operational playbooks, incorporating both backend analytics and in-field investigative work.
- Partner with GI/AP: establish "path-to-prosecution" standards, package evidence and case files, track case outcomes, and collaborate on high-dollar or organized criminal activity. AP partnership includes in-store identity verification pilots and theft investigations.
- Lead a team of analysts; hire, coach, and develop talent; manage, motivate, and establish clear career paths for direct reports.
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Tableau for data analysis and presentation building (presentation delivery is a plus but not required).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Driver Experience, and other teams; maintain strong relationships and share insights regularly.
- Respond to incidents: triage emerging schemes (e.g., driver/customer fraud, collusion), coordinate mitigations, and communicate impact/next steps to leadership.
- Ensure governance and compliance: maintain SOPs, evidence handling, and documentation; support audits and policy reviews.
- Ability to travel up to 30% for store visits.
- 5–8+ years in Fraud Prevention / Trust & Safety / Risk Ops, with 2+ years managing analysts or investigative teams in high-volume environments.
- Experience conducting deep-dive data analysis to identify trends and investigate fraud.
- Comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, and fast-paced, unstructured environments; ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed.
- Hands‑on experience with identity & account‑integrity controls, abuse vectors relevant to marketplaces, and field investigations.
- Strong analytical skills (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and experience building presentations.
- Demonstrated partnership with GI/AP or similar corporate investigations functions, including evidence packaging and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
