Position Summary... What you'll do... Manager, Facilities Maintenance – Electrical Summary
The Manager, Facilities Maintenance – Electrical oversees electrical maintenance activities across Walmart facilities. This role reviews vendor proposals, ensures compliance with safety standards, and drives timely, cost‑effective solutions for electrical issues in stores, clubs, and distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal review: Assess electrical repair and upgrade proposals for technical accuracy, code compliance, and value; recommend approval or revisions.
Issue resolution: Coordinate diagnosis and corrective actions for electrical problems involving panels, switch gear, feeders, lighting, and EV chargers; manage permits and inspections.
Vendor coordination: Provide guidance on solution design and safety requirements; monitor performance and documentation.
Safety & compliance: Enforce Walmart’s electrical safety standards and applicable NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations.
Preventive maintenance: Support reliability programs and preventive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.
Documentation & reporting: Maintain accurate records, including one‑lines, test reports, and close‑out packages.
Cross‑functional collaboration: Work with operations, safety, and utility partners to minimize business disruption during projects.
- Master/Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and multi‑site maintenance programs.
- Experience with EV infrastructure, generators, and power quality testing.
- Multi‑site support with periodic travel; occasional after‑hours response for critical issues.
Oversees the maintenance of facilities and property appearance and structural functionality with minimal business disruption by maintaining high quality customer service ensuring associates respond to requests for repair overseeing the assessment of time critical projects performing root cause analysis and determining and implementing solutions coordinating design flaw issues with key stakeholders for example Store Operations Merchandising Realty attending meetings with key stakeholders for example Operations Regional Managers and regulatory authorities conducting Quality Assurance Quality Control QAQC on spend analysis and reviewing overall performance to identify improvement opportunities.
Drives financial sustainability and cost optimization for facilities by developing presenting approving and managing budgets up to authorization spend for capital and operational expenses prioritizing spend in collaboration with operations approving and negotiating contracts proposals invoices and expenses determining and proposing people resource requirements based on workload cost and company growth analyzing vendor cost discrepancies and fraud and assisting in preparing reports to summarize information for business analysis and decision making for example expense accruals outstanding invoices.
Oversees compliance with federal state local and trade industry laws regulations and guidelines for example building codes Environmental Protection Agency EPA regulations cold chain requirements by implementing maintenance policies and procedures conducting Facility EPA inspections managing risk with removal of ozone depleting materials for example refrigerants and ensuring facilities maintenance programs processes and procedures are in compliance with laws and regulations.
