The Administrative Specialist, Disability Resources is responsible for researching and preparing special reports, examining and verifying documents, and performing general office duties. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The Administrative Assistant for Disability Resources is responsible to the Director for the effective and timely completion of administrative support duties for the Center. This position requires superior customer service with attention to the specialized needs and confidentiality requirements pertaining to the student population served by Disability Resources.

Broad working knowledge of other campus resources, offices, and units is also required.

Essential Duties
  • Welcome and assist all stakeholders and guests who contact the Center, accurately assessing their reason for visit and urgency status, and coordinating appropriate next-steps.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to relevant compliance related issues and awareness of multicultural factors to ensure stakeholders and guests feel welcome, heard, and are receiving appropriate support.
  • Make appointments and otherwise maintain calendars of Disability Resources staff.
  • Take and appropriately respond to incoming inquiries (phone, text, and webform contacts); complete general requests for information, making referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain adequate office supplies. Complete, track, and maintain record of all department purchase requisitions and expenditures.
  • Assist staff with maintaining confidential records.
  • Assist staff in creation of reports, tracking, and other summary documents as needed.
  • Support daily operations of the Center, performing related duties as required or assigned.
  • Assist students with general campus resources guidance, as needed, including tabling events, outreach, and cross-campus collaborations with other campus partners.
  • Assist staff in provision of golf cart services to facilitate student transportation needs.
Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay: $17.34 per Hour

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least 2 years of customer service or administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
  • Ability to compile information into report form
