What You'll Do- Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback.
- Tour‑to‑Teach communication, collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams.
- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Managing and supporting customer service initiatives (e.g., store of the community), community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved.
- Developing and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies, providing process‑improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
- Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL/Profit‑Loss statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, ensuring they are indexed to sales.
- Monitors effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing recognition.
- Coordinating and overseeing job‑related activities and assignments, building accountability, measuring progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, supports company mission and values, and promotes a culture of belonging.
- Attracts and retains top talent, empowers and develops staff, and recognizes contributions.
- Acts with integrity, upholds highest standards, and supports Walmart’s regenerative company goal.
- Serves customers and members, delivers results, considers EDLP and EDLC business models, makes data‑driven decisions, and balances short‑ and long‑term priorities.
- Strives for excellence, encourages continuous improvement, adopts new technologies, and supports others through change.
- 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
