Chemical Production Operator
Position Summary:
A chemical production operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used to manufacture chemical products according to established procedures and quality standards. The role spans a broad scope, including raw material and finished product handling, process control, troubleshooting deviations, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Chemical production operators play a critical role in maintaining consistent product quality and efficient plant operations while minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely conduct the filling of totes, drums, and tankers with hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Conduct hazardous and non-hazardous material handling and shipping.
- Loading/unloading of incoming/outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with front desk staff and truck drivers to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Follow processes with raw materials for batch production.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Flexible hours and scheduling
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly
- Forklift experience (preferred)
Preferred Certification
- Forklift License
- CPR Certification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to chemicals, sterilizers, and hazardous materials with appropriate PPE
- Work primarily in industrial and laboratory facilities
- May require extended hours
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift 50 lbs
Additional Requirements:
- Safety, compliance, and ethics training
- On-the-job training
- Background check and drug screening
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
