Base pay range

$60,000.00/hr - $65,000.00/hr

OSG USA, INC. is a leading manufacturer of taps, end mills, drills, and indexable cutting tools. OSG also serves the fastener industry by offering a complete line of thread rolling, flat, cylindrical, and planetary, rack and trim dies. The company markets its products to numerous industries including automotive, die mold, aerospace, energy, heavy industry and dental.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our growing team! The Manufacturing Engineer has the opportunity to participate in a collaborative environment to lead the creation of premium cutting tools to support aerospace, automotive, die mold, energy, and heavy equipment industries. Apply material science and creative problem solving to CNC programming, CAD/manufacturing drawing, and production routing to grind custom-made tools.

Interacts with other departments in process development and process improvement to increase production output while achieving the highest quality standards and exceeding customer expectations.

Job Functions
  • Develop custom tools and modifications to meet customer expectations by translating customer print/requirements into CAD drawings.
  • Assist in the creation of tool simulation to facilitate print creation and define specifications from manufacturing point of view.
  • Create production routing and bill of materials to direct and control the production process.
  • Work with quoting team to review product requirements and create drawings to support quote requests.
  • Develop proof of concept and make design recommendations to customers with input from application team.
  • Support production team with manufacturing process.
  • Support inspection by creating CNC inspection program.
  • Assist in the investigation and analysis of new materials, equipment, and engineering processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited collegiate institution with a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent program.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Only local candidates will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year relevant manufacturing industry experience.
  • AutoCAD and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Experience with tool grinding machines such as Walter (Tool Studio) or Rollomatic (VGPro).
  • Helicheck programming.
  • G code and/or M code.
  • Previous engineering intern experience.

Physical Working Demands
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate by telephone using the English Language.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, phone dialing, feeling objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.

    The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. (Phone ringing, and heavy communication between co‑workers and customers).
  • Factory Setting:
    The noise level in the work environment can be noisy. Typically, cutting, grinding, sanding, and manufacturing machines. While in this environment, wearing personal protection equipment (in some areas) may be required.
