Registered Nurse (RN) – New Graduate Residency Program
Join Dartmouth Health and become part of the New Graduate Residency Program at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC). The program supports new graduates in Inpatient Medical Surgical/Telemetry and Emergency Room units, providing guidance and development throughout their first year of practice.
Base pay range: $32.00/hr – $32.00/hr
Program OverviewThis accredited RN New Grad Residency Program offers:
- Up to $30,000.00 loan forgiveness
- Sign‑on retention bonus
- ADN to BSN completion paid through the Colby Sawyer program
- Continuing education tuition reimbursement up to $3,000.00 annually
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing individualized, goal‑directed nursing care and engaging in patient‑centered, evidence‑based, outcome‑driven care.
Qualifications- Minimum Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. - Work Experience: Prior hospital or medical experience preferred.

Certifications:
Ability to obtain valid Vermont State Registered Nurse licensure by date of employment; BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required within 90 days of hire. - Shift Requirements: Night shift and rotating weekends/holidays; work hours typically 7 pm–7:30 am or 11:00 pm–7:30 am.
- Other: Willingness to work in inpatient medical surgical/telemetry and emergency room units.
