Job Description

The POS Audit Assistant is responsible for the preparation of daily closeouts by comparing daily sales to financial reports for errors. Responsibilities include maintaining logs and secure files, which serve as supporting documents to verify payments. We work closely with internal and field managers to ensure all errors are corrected by the end of the company’s monthly calendar. The department reports Accounting and Audit, which contributes to accurate accounting journal entries and accountability.

You Will Own It
  • Accountable for maintaining accurate detailed closeouts while maintaining all department logs. Punctual reporting of all overages/shortage and any out of compliance issues by the end of each reporting month.
  • Preparation of detailed closeouts, emails, and closeout folders.
  • Perform detailed reviews of retail transactions with the ability to identify errors.
  • Assist stores with general instructions on how to resolve errors.
  • Support the business operations by reviewing financial results and assisting with the delivery of supporting documents.
  • Demonstrates attention to details, analytical and critical thinking and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate initiative and prioritize workload which includes the ability to be organized, maintain accurate logs, follow up with field and internal management, and compose prompt detailed reporting emails.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful, and professional relationships.
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent associated degree.
  • 1-3 years of working experience related to finance, banking, etc.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Excel with room to advance.
  • Ability to interpret company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write concise reports to various audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of an organization.
Work Conditions
  • Hybrid work schedule out of Oakland, CA office; must be able to come into office for up to 6 weeks for training, and once a week after training.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an office setting.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.

Position Location: California

Compensation Range: $16.50 - $26.40

Base pay offered may vary depending on actual location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Supplemental pay types may include commissions or bonus incentives, depending on the role.
