Heavy Equipment Mechanic

• Help maintain and repair construction equipment, trucks, mixer trucks, including preventative maintenance work, hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs and welding.
• May perform service repairs in the field.
• May have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of units from small fleet vehicles, class 8 trucks/trailers, mixer trucks, construction equipment and crushing equipment.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Must have own journeyman hand tools;
  Knife River provides large tools and has a replacement policy.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes and behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours:

2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Wage Range: $26.91 – $47.11 per hour.
Wage differential ($3) included for swing shift.

• Previous mechanical experience on construction equipment, class 8 trucks and mixer trucks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment criminal background check, physical/functional and drug screen.
