Vice President of Sales will oversee Deschutes Brewery's sales team and distributor network. This position is responsible for delivering on the company's sales goals through effective business planning, team leadership, distributor execution, national accounts execution, customer relationship management and budget management. The VP of Sales is responsible for delivering results and managing the overall performance of the sales and national accounts team.
Preference will be given to those currently residing in Bend, OR, or who are willing to relocate. Applications will only be considered for candidates living in Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, or Nevada.
- Leads the development and implementation of sales and national accounts strategies, objectives and key performance indicators, and tactics that support Deschutes Brewery brands, the business, and the overall financial and strategic company goals.
- Builds and develops a high performing sales and national accounts team. Manages the sales team overall performance, defines expectations and key performance indications, and monitors progress.
- Builds successful partnerships with distributors and retailers, adding more value than competitors through the contributions of people, systems, brands and brand support tools.
- Conducts sales reviews within each assigned sales division to address market‑specific tactics, key performance indicators, goal setting, forecasts, and supports the achievement of business priorities across the sales divisions.
- Develops and maintains the highest quality standards of retail executions and national accounts programming.
- Develops and implements effective sale plans and programs to drive growth, generate revenue, and increase market share.
- Ensures quality of brand mix, inventory, size mix and market pricing are set to drive short‑ and long‑term growth and profitability.
- Identifies and adapts to changes in the craft beer and beverage category and evaluates and adjusts strategic objectives accordingly.
- Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with distributors and key accounts.
- Collaborates with the marketing leadership team to develop innovative sales programming and pricing strategies, build distributor and retailer share of mind, and discover valuable insights on emerging consumer trends.
- Manages budgets to ensure dollars are allocated and spent efficiently and effectively within budgetary parameters; responsible for maintaining these budgets throughout the year, balancing expenditures against volume and profitability expectations.
- Monitors business and brand health performance using internal and external data resources to identify opportunities to drive both brand development and volume performance.
- Provides creative, strategic and fiscally responsible leadership that aligns with the achievement of Deschutes Brewery's strategic goals.
- Serves on the Senior Leadership Team, Strategic Planning Team and is responsible for keeping key stakeholders informed of the sales results on a weekly basis.
