Dishroom Attendant (Relief)

St. Charles Health System is hiring a Dishroom Attendant (Relief). This role cleans and sanitizes dishes, cookware, utensils and other kitchen tools using commercial dishwashers and cleaning equipment. The attendant performs routine and deep cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen cleanliness in compliance with St. Charles Health System standards and Oregon Food Sanitation standards. The position does not supervise other caregivers.

• Wash dishes, glassware, flat-making, kitchen equipment/utensils, pots, and/or pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand
• Restock all clean dishes and equipment once sanitized
• Retrieve used food trays and carts from patient care areas according to schedule
• Complete all assigned opening/closing procedures and check‑lists
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean, orderly condition; perform routine cleaning of floors, mats, walls, cooking equipment, carts, ceilings, and other kitchen or food service equipment as assigned
• Use various chemicals to clean and/or sanitize the kitchen facility, including deep cleaning of equipment, floor mats, dishwashing machine, floors, carts, refrigerators, and counters
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam
• Sort and remove waste and recycling, placing it in designated pickup areas
• Sweep and scrub floors
• Provide support to other food service areas as directed by manager, supervisor or coordinator, including the delivery of food to patients when needed
• Support the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects
• Implement continuous improvement principles (VIP‑Lean) and serve as a champion of change
• Maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
• Conduct all activities with the dictionary of professionalism and confidentiality; comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; report known or suspected violations; and cooperate fully with investigations and proceedings
• Deliver customer service and/or patient care in a timely, efficient, accurate manner
• Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
