Home Health Aide, Caregiver
Not all heroes wear scrubs:
Some carry grocery bags, drive to doctor appointments, do laundry, help with showers, go on walks, and listen with curiosity. If you like doing good in the world, this job is for you!
At Senior Helpers of Central Oregon, we are proud to enable our clients to live independently and with dignity in the comfort of their own homes. We have a local, family‑oriented approach to providing care and set a high standard in dementia care, chronic disease support, and companion services. We’re seeking dedicated individuals who share our passion for improving quality of life for seniors.
ADay in the Life of a Caregiver
Mrs. Smith sought Senior Helpers to provide in‑home care to assist her husband with mid‑stage dementia. This will allow Mrs. Smith to start her mornings at the local gym, meet friends for coffee, and go to her local book club in the afternoon. Mr. Smith needs a caregiver to standby and assist with bathing, dressing, and all hygiene in the morning.
The caregiver will make a nutritious breakfast and lunch, do laundry, clean up the kitchen, and do some light housekeeping. Mr. Smith also needs companionship and engagement in meaningful activities, like reminiscing with photo albums or listening to his favorite music. Sometimes, the caregiver will assist him with exercises or short walks outside. The caregiver will provide respite so Mrs.
Smith can recharge emotionally, avoid burning out, and maintain her own social connections and contribute to Mr. Smith’s physical and cognitive well‑being.
