Base pay is competitive and will be determined by skills and experience. Team‑based bonus opportunities are available. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Veterans, transitioning active‑duty military personnel, and military spouses are encouraged to apply. Brookdale offers fee assistance for naturalization (Form N‑400) covering up to $725 for qualifying associates who have been with the company for at least a year.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Program Manager or Coordinator in leading and implementing a person‑centered program that meets the individual needs and interests of residents.
  • Engage residents in the seven domains of well‑being programs—purposeful, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical—in a dementia‑friendly structured environment.
  • Review individual residents’ service plans and complete program documentation per Brookdale standards or state requirements.
  • Ensure dementia care programs comply with state, federal, and other regulations and align with Brookdale’s mission, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide guidance and resources to associates on the importance of programming and engagement for residents’ quality of life.
  • Coordinate and participate in special events, including family socials, marketing/sales, and open houses.
  • Communicate positively with residents, families, and community professionals about Brookdale dementia care program benefits.
  • Assist with Manager/Coordinator initiatives for quality improvement, including the Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST).
  • Support scheduled programming events outside the community, which may include driving a community motor vehicle.
  • Assist with the volunteer program, including volunteer training and supervision.
  • Perform personal care, housekeeping, and dietary responsibilities as needed to maintain service quality.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s Degree preferred. Minimum one year of experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other

Special Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license and a current 3‑year driving abstract showing no more than one moving violation.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Talking or hearing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision required.
  • Interaction with co‑workers, residents, or vendors.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed.
  • On‑call on an as‑needed basis.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
  • Exposure to latex, blood‑borne pathogens, and various chemical or biological hazards.
  • Occasional travel.
Management/Decision Making

Makes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or reported to a supervisor.
