Pay Range$24.44 – $30.55 per hour, varies with experience.

Position OverviewThe Medical Assistant will manage daily patient flow for the assigned physicians, using triage skills to collect patient information and anticipate physician needs. The role requires direct patient care and support of physicians and staff.
Essential Functions and Duties- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
- Record and maintain patient medical data in the chart.
- Assist physician with answering phone requests from patients and other professionals.
- Perform physician-requested ancillary or surgical patient procedures (excluding IV medication).
- Maintain equipment, instrument supplies, and inventory levels.
- Support the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
- Champion Lean principles of continuous improvement.
- Provide a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
- Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver customer service and/or patient care in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
- Perform additional duties of comparable complexity as required.
Required:
High school diploma or GED. Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current MA Certification from AMT, NCCT, AAMA, NAHP, NHA or EMT, Oregon LPN, or Oregon RN.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Ability to travel to all St. Charles Health System worksites.
Current American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification.
Experience and Knowledge- Basic knowledge of ICD‑10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.
- Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
- Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards.
- Must maintain confidentiality and meet all HIPAA requirements.
- One (1) year of experience required for NHA certified candidates based on work experience.
- Preferred:
Two (2) years of Medical Assisting experience.
To qualify, candidates must have at least one year of licensed experience and must not have worked for St. Charles Health System in the last six months. Bonuses are available to external applicants only and are subject to applicable tax with holdings.
