Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

NOW CFO is seeking an operational, hands‑on Controller to join our team in the Bend, Oregon area. This is a full‑time role offering $55–$65 per hour
, depending on experience.

This opportunity is ideal for a well‑rounded Controller generalist who has supported multiple industries and enjoys stepping into dynamic environments. Rather than focusing on one specific sector, we are looking for professionals with broad, adaptable accounting leadership experience across a variety of business types.

Exposure to industries such as Manufacturing, Distribution, Construction, Logistics, Service, Retail, or Non‑Profit is highly valued, as this role requires flexibility and strong operational finance insight.

As a Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and driving financial performance. This role requires in-depth knowledge of GAAP
, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

• Oversee and coordinate all financial and accounting activities
• Manage accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Implement and maintain accounting controls and budgets to mitigate risk and maximize returns
  
  Support month‑end and year‑end close processes with accurate and timely financial reporting
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process
• Standardize and maintain accounting records and processes while adapting to unique business needs
• Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements and financial strategies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
• CPA certification is preferred but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management or a related role
• Controller‑level experience required, ideally in multi‑industry environments
• Experience across industries such as Manufacturing, Distribution, Construction, Logistics, Service, Retail, or Non‑Profit is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a hands‑on approach
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines
