Accessibility Technology Support Tech (Part Time, Temporary Hourly, Non-Benefited)

Hourly rate: $20.86/hr open Until Filled:
Yes. Open for 2025‑2026 Academic Year.

The Accessible Technology Support Tech works with Student Accessibility Services and other departments to aid faculty in ensuring that online instructional materials meet state and federal accessibility standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support accessibility tasks delegated by the Accessible Technology Coordinator and additional Student Accessibility Services staff.
  • Communicate regularly with faculty during the creation and remediation of course materials for accessibility compliance.
  • Use provided technology to help faculty enhance student learning, access, equity, and Universal Design in all instructional modes.
  • Advise users on tools and features in the learning management system (LMS) for creating and accessing accessible course materials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong computer skills; comfortable working with digital environments.
  • Ability to assimilate new knowledge of academic technologies and apply it to new projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with other college departments to streamline services.
  • Willingness to learn basic Universal Design for Learning (UDL) pedagogies and educational accessibility principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a respectful and diverse work environment.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • One‑year experience communicating complex situations to customers and/or clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • One‑year prior experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Basic knowledge of academic technologies such as Canvas, Camtasia, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, ALLY, Read speaker, Adobe Acrobat or similar.
Ergonomic Requirements

Regular office hours 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary. Incumbent must work at a workstation for extended periods and perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
