Primary Purpose

Students in this position will assist the Admissions Coordinators with duties including but not limited to: general office tasks, duties related to recruitment and outreach, and special events either on or off-campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • This position is for a returning Ambassador in their 2nd year.
  • Coordinate future student campus visits including weekly tours and group tours.
  • Coordinate with local high schools for COCC visits.
  • Provide clerical support as needed for recruitment activities.
  • Assist with recruitment and special events on-campus and off-campus.
  • Acquaint high school students and any other interested individuals or groups with COCC’s programs and services.
  • Provide campus tours to prospective COCC students.
  • Visit high schools and make presentations about COCC and meet with high school students and/or staff.
  • Assist with and make presentations from a student’s perspective at Parent Information Nights.
  • Phone prospective students to follow up on information requests and offer assistance.
  • Assist in training new student ambassadors and maintain tour schedule.
  • Attend ambassador meetings when needed.
  • Attend on-campus leadership training.
  • Assist with Outreach and Recruitment efforts by supporting our team with COCC’s social media platforms. This may include creating content, helping manage student takeovers, and other duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ergonomic Requirements

Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.

Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
