Provide compassionate, high-quality care for patients throughout the entire course of cancer treatment. Prescribe systemic treatments and coordinate care with other physicians involved in the patient's management.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:St. Charles Cancer Center combines leading research, technology, and personalized guidance to deliver top-tier patient care. Our hospital-based Cancer Centers in Bend and Redmond are accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Clinical Duties:- Practice and exemplify excellence in Oncology diagnosis and treatment, aligning goals with patient values.
- Perform all oncology practice skills, assessments, and evaluations.
- Provide definitive treatment, supportive care, and follow-up.
- Promote good health and illness prevention.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with expert knowledge of evidence-based cancer care.
- Participate in clinical trials for new therapies and supportive care.
- Rotate on-call duties as required.
- Supervise advanced practice practitioners as needed.
- Administer medications accurately per SCHS policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, collaborating with the team to ensure excellent patient experience.
- Support departmental goals and uphold the values of St. Charles Health System.
- Deliver timely, efficient, and accurate customer service.
- Create a healing, respectful environment that enhances safety and care experience.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development.
- Foster positive relationships within the medical community.
- Complete billing and coding documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all activities.
- Comply with laws, policies, and procedures, supporting organizational integrity.
- Keep licenses and certifications current and unrestricted.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaboration.
- Graduate from an accredited medical school.
- Complete an accredited residency in internal medicine.
- Complete Hematology-Oncology fellowship.
- Attend mandatory educational sessions and complete CME requirements annually.
- Valid MD/DO license.
- Board certification or eligibility in Oncology.
- Unrestricted DEA and ability to participate in Medicare/Medicaid.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS if practicing sedation.
- Experience in hospital and outpatient Medical Oncology.
- Proficiency with EMR systems.
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration experience.
- Oregon medical license.
- Experience with Epic EMR.
- Two years of active Oncology practice.
