DC is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative team member to support the accurate fabrication and execution of heavy timber and framing systems. This role is responsible for interpreting architectural and structural drawings, modeling framing systems, producing shop and assembly drawings, and performing detailed material takeoffs in support of estimating, procurement, and field execution.
Daily responsibilities include reviewing plans and engineering markups, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and maintaining clear, organized documentation throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Duties/Responsibilities- Model framing systems in 3D (CADwork or similar) and produce shop and assembly drawings
- Perform detailed material takeoffs to support estimating and procurement
- Review architectural and structural plans, engineering markups, addendums, and RFIs, and update documentation accordingly
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, sales, and construction teams to resolve design questions and avoid field conflicts
- Communicate project details clearly and maintain organized, accurate documentation
- Support continuous improvement of workflows, standards, and internal processes
- Other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the role
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling (CADwork preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
- Knowledge of building components and construction practices
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Construction plan reading experience required
- Carpentry or field construction experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to perform computer-based work for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
