WakeMAKERS is seeking a motivated, service-driven Customer Advocate to deliver “wow” customer experiences by resolving order-related inquiries across phone, email, and chat while embodying the company’s core values of integrity, expertise, innovation, continuous improvement, and community.
About Wake Makers was started when two buddies in the wakeboard industry grew frustrated by the available options for equipping your boat with ballast. After a while, it became clear that they weren’t the only ones feeling this frustration. The duo set up shop in one of their garages and WakeMAKERS was started. Fast forward to today and WakeMAKERS has reached a place of prominence in the industry as the leading provider of accessories for towed watersports applications.

We are looking for a motivated and service-driven individual to join our team as a Customer Advocate ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively resolve customer inquiries with patience and understanding. They must also have the ability to learn quickly, remain organized, multitask efficiently, work well as part of a team environment, problem solve independently and utilize best practices in customer service.
This is not your typical customer service role; our customers love shopping with us and are excited to have more fun on the water with their families and friends. Occasionally they will have an issue with their order, or need assistance making a return or exchange, but in general they are happy and just need minor assistance.
As a Customer Advocate at WakeMAKERS you will:
- Strive to offer our customers a "wow" experience via phone, email and chat interactions.
- Solve problems for customers that need assistance with orders they have already placed (returns, warranty requests, shipping issues, order status or payment related concerns).
- Use your unique skills to provide solutions that actually solve problems for the customer based on their specific situation.
- Follow clear instructions for how to handle each specific situation that you will encounter.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to answer questions from customers accurately.
- Perform other duties related to resolving customer issues such as following up on open tickets, processing warranty claims or communicating with shipping vendors.
- Work as a part of a team to manage the volume of incoming inquiries from customers.
- A passion for helping other humans
- A background in customer service (or other service related fields) is recommended but not required.
- Familiarity using CRM systems (Net Suite or Zen Desk) is beneficial but not necessary
- Excellent telephone manners speaking clearly with empathy & understanding
- Ability to follow clearly defined processes and standards
- Knowledge of basic computer/internet concepts & usage
- Ability to maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule
- A positive attitude when working in a team
A period of in-office training on our standards and processes is provided to make sure you are comfortable and prepared to assist customers.
