Description
The Content Production Specialist is responsible for creating compelling video and photo assets that reinforce Ruffwear's mission of building performance dog gear to enhance and inspire adventures for outdoor explorers and their human companions. This position plays a key role in capturing and producing high-quality photography and video content, as well as assisting with various design and production tasks. This person will help deliver engaging content for Ruffwear customers through branded narrative stories, organic social content, product education, and other digital media channels.
WhatYou’ll Do in this Role
- Capture and produce content aligned with Ruffwear brand standards and campaign objectives, translating creative direction into strong visual assets.
- Operate video and photography cameras, lighting, grip, and sound equipment by yourself or with a supporting crew.
- Coordinate shoot logistics including location scouting, scheduling, talent planning, on-location access, equipment and prop organization, set-up, and post-production tasks.
- Brainstorm, pitch, and capture daily and campaign-based video content for marketing, social media, and internal communication needs, including b-roll, action sequences, lifestyle vignettes, interviews, and short-form storytelling.
- Work closely with the Creative and Brand Marketing teams to create engaging visual content (graphics, videos, social posts, marketing materials) and ensure seamless content creation and production processes.
- Manage, organize, upload, and keep up-to-date media assets in the company Media Library.
- Maintain and organize the studio and equipment; refresh, restore, and restock equipment and expendables; coordinate studio usage when scheduling production time.
- Support quick-turn capture and editing needs tied to real-time priorities such as conditions, events, and promotions, while balancing planned campaign work.
- Assist with audio/visual, photo, and video capture for company-wide meetings and events.
- Stay current on content trends, platform requirements, and production tools to continuously improve capture and post-production quality.

What a Great Candidate Brings to this Role- At least 2 years of work experience (in-house or freelance) in video and photo production, editing, motion graphics, and post-production.
- Portfolio of video assets and project work that is consistent with Ruffwear’s brand style and authentic outdoor presentation.
- Knowledge and experience using a professional camera, grip, lighting, and sound equipment for in-studio and on-location photo and video shoots.
- Experience capturing and editing organic and paid social-first video content, tailored for specific platforms (You Tube, Instagram, Tik Tok).
- Proficiency in post-production, including editing, color correction, audio sweetening, mixing, and motion treatments while maintaining brand consistency.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention-to-detail.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and Figma.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Asana, Basecamp, Monday).
- Experience in the outdoor, lifestyle, and/or consumer products industries.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Digital Arts, Photography, Visual Communications, or related field is preferred, but not required.
