Position: SUPPORTIVE HOUSING SPECIALIST

Responsibilities
  • Assist eligible clients with severe mental illness in obtaining and maintaining adequate housing.
  • Identify client needs and connect them with appropriate services.
  • Manage services related to accessing and obtaining housing.
  • Orient clients to housing programs, referral options, support services, and housing options.
  • Serve as a liaison between landlords, tenants, service providers, and the community regarding housing needs.
  • Complete and submit required reports.
  • Assist with grant writing and grant proposal submission.
  • Provide individualized supportive housing services for clients.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally, maintaining working relationships with others in carrying out job functions.
  • Attend and represent the program and agency in a responsible, professional manner at all meetings.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related Human Service field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in a human service organization is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license or other evidence of mobility is required.
  • Strong commitment to BI-CAP’s values of collaboration, innovation, and compassion for those we serve.
  • Applicants must pass a Background Study.
  • Familiarity with impoverished and/or unhoused populations, computer knowledge, record keeping, and/or client intake is preferred.
Wages

Full-time, 40 hours/week, $19.27 - $26.98/hr benefit eligible: medical, dental, vision, life/add/std, retirement plan, holiday pay and paid-time off.

Potential

Schedule:

Weekdays between 8 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m. dictated by program needs.
