Front line officers that serve as the "go to" in the department. Assist with training new staff as well as support for ongoing learning in the department.

Enforces the organization's policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff. Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned. Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning. Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations. Responds to all requests for assistance from employees and visitors.

Assists with any and all situations; i.e., problem‑solving with positive outcomes. May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested. Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Able to work with all age groups. Must prioritize calls for service in order of urgency based on safety needs. Requires de‑escalation in stressful situations and awareness of local laws affecting conduct on private property.

Communicates effectively with all customers; writes professional reports; demonstrates physical ability to perform basic security functions as trained. May have access to areas where medications are stored to perform job‑related tasks. Serves as a resource for questions and concerns and oversees day‑to‑day activities. Prioritizes, follows up, and escalates issues when necessary. Demonstrates leadership qualities: intelligence, persistence, integrity, and confidence.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• May require a current valid driver’s license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.
• Advanced certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety required within one year of hire.
