Salary Range: $23.00 - $36.00

• Provide direct patient care in behavioral health settings with guidance and supervision to develop counseling skills.
• Assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, implement interventions, and continually monitor progress.
• Document treatment sessions and provide progress updates to the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions; refer for additional clinical services as needed.
• Collaborate within a team-based model under a clinical supervisor or admitting provider.
• Work in various settings (clinic, hospital, community, or residential) with duties tailored to the setting.
• In hospital settings, participate in psychiatry-related duties including crisis intervention, assessment, and referral.
• Coordinate and provide treatment in community settings for patients with severe and persistent mental illness.
• In residential settings, coordinate and provide higher-level care including assessment, counseling, and program development within a multidisciplinary team.
• Stay current on emerging issues in the behavioral health profession.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences or related field preferred; completion of a practicum or internship.
• In Minnesota, must follow Minnesota State statute defining Mental Health Practitioner.
• At least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in delivering services to persons with mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities; OR
• Has at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and at least 2,000 hours of supervised work experience in the same areas.
