We are looking for an experienced application engineer who can lead and manage an international team of experts in occupational health and safety, hearing conservation, hearing protection, and protective communications equipment. As a Technical Manager in Application Engineering, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. You will make an impact by:

• Leading and managing an international team with deep knowledge in occupational health and safety, hearing conservation, hearing protection and protective communications equipment
• Directing activities supporting the use of personal protective equipment in occupational settings, including customer visits, gathering insights, thought leadership, and education and training
• Driving key tasks related to new product development, product changes, commercialization, and complaint investigations
• Participating in key applicable business activities, including the leadership teams for hearing protection and protective communications equipment

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Five years of experience in occupational health and safety and/or personal protective equipment and/or personal communications systems in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or one of the sciences or a related field
• Experience / knowledge regarding personal communications equipment
• People management experience
• International experience or knowledge in occupational health and safety
• Experience with product development and commercialization
• Strong written and oral skills
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Fluent in English

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN or Indianapolis, IN

May include up to 25% domestic/international travel.

Expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
