As a R&D Product Development Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead, develop, and manage a global team of highly‑skilled product developers, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative, and growth‑oriented culture.
• Drive product development execution for the Home Improvement business focusing on the creation of innovative global consumer product platforms.
• Partner closely with cross‑functional leaders across the consumer business and corporate support functions to prioritize resources and manage cost and timeline expectations delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Promote safety, environmental stewardship, and operational discipline, ensuring effective use of 3M systems including stage gate and resource prioritization and reporting software.
• Support organizational transformation initiatives and lead special projects that enhance R&D efficiency and operational excellence.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND three (3) years of product development and commercialization management experience using stage gate processes in the consumer packaged goods industry in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND five (5) years in R&D, project management, industrial design, quality, or sales management roles directly involved with the development and sale of new consumer products in retail, online, and club markets.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Demonstrated success in product commercialization for consumer Do‑It‑Yourself, home design and décor, or organization and storage solutions.
• Strong capability in building and leading high‑performing, diverse, global teams.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional team leaders to build and present executive‑ready communication slide decks with minimal oversight.
• Strategic mindset with willingness to take calculated risks and solve complex problems in partnership with cross‑functional leaders.
• Commitment to safety, environmental health, and organizational accountability.

This role follows an on‑site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international. Relocation is not authorized.

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
