Overview
The Staff Accountant will play a key role within the accounting team, contributing to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. This position requires a business professional with high integrity who is resourceful, innovative, collaborative, and motivated to add value across both the accounting and manufacturing functions. The salary range for this position is $48,525.. The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
- Responsible for the accurate accounting and month-end closing of assigned sections of the general ledger.
- Maintain and reconcile designated balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Calculate, prepare, and post journal entries, in compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation and reconciliations for all journal entries.
- Collaborate with management to investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Communicate with external stakeholders regarding contract administration, invoicing, and documentation requirements.
- Partner with operations to enhance understanding of accounting policies, enterprise systems, and relevant technologies.
- Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.
- Develop and execute queries, generate reports, and analyze financial results to support decision-making.
- Provide timely cost, revenue, and business metric data to support external reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of operating statements and management reports used for business oversight.
- Contribute to cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Prepare and provide timely and accurate information to internal and external auditors, including general ledger account details, reconciliations, and explanations of specific transactions.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Review and manage historical financial records in compliance with the corporate record retention policy.
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and support a strong internal control environment.
- Promote continuous improvement through the standardization and automation of corporate accounting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- One (1) to three (3) years of accounting experience preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency using Excel required.
- Basic proficiency using report writing/database programs preferred.
- Experience using an enterprise accounting system preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Self-starter with a drive for excellence, ability to build strong working relationships, and an aptitude to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
