Under general supervision, performs precision tune-ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance calls under general supervision
- Perform routine precision tune-ups and maintenance on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories accurately and timely
- Inspect and perform limited diagnostics to identify potential problems and prevent premature breakdowns
- Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed
- Deliver and remove parts and equipment necessary for service work
- Assist Service Technician in servicing HVAC equipment and accessories
- Use hand‑held device to record all required information, complete forms and paperwork neatly and accurately; collect payment when necessary
- Communicate with dispatch to provide accurate status reports
- Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promote products and services to customers and notify Sales and Service Coordinator of replacement product sale leads
- Ensure company property, vehicles and tools are properly used, maintained and accounted for
- Represent the company professionally, honestly and ethically in all business matters
- Follow standard procedures and process, ensuring vehicle is properly stocked
- Perform similar or other duties as needed or assigned
Roles and Responsibilities
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to supervisor immediately
- Report any contravention of legislation or policy to supervisor immediately
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control
- Use and maintain appropriate PPE as prescribed
- Never remove or render ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing
- Comply with general rules as prescribed
- Operate devices or equipment as prescribed
- Participate in safety initiatives, teams or committees
- Report all injuries or incidents as prescribed immediately
- Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures
- Do not perform acts that endanger safety of others
- Do not engage in pranks, contests or rough behavior
- Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and 0‑1+ years’ HVAC experience; technical training certification preferred
- Must possess all valid licensing or certification required by law for the work area
- EPA and safety certifications required
- Basic knowledge of HVAC operation fundamentals and accessories
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate tools and equipment
- Proficient in operating necessary tools and equipment for service projects
- Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant and duct systems
