Field Service Technician, Residential Energy Service

Reported to the General Manager, the Residential Field Service Technician will provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance services for Tesla’s energy products, including solar PV systems, batteries, and other energy solutions. The ideal candidate has experience in electrical work, installation, and servicing residential solar PV systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance on inverters to maintain warranty coverage.
• Respond to corrective maintenance cases on solar PV and energy storage systems, and update online case logs accurately, adhering to safety standards.
• Write reports as required to meet deliverables in O&M contracts.
• Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open cases and provide data as needed.
• Prioritize work requests and manage escalations.
• Address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality.
• Ensure proper care of company property, including vehicles, tools, electronics, and software.

• At least one year of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar PV systems. A Journeyman Electrician license is preferred for electrical work.
• Proficiency in installing inverters and working with various racking systems, with knowledge of NEC codes and NFPA 70E practices.
• Ability to stay organized and work independently in a fast-paced environment, making decisions calmly and efficiently.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets, word processing, and computer applications.
• Ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and work in extreme environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time and have valid government-issued  travel and access.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Expected hourly pay ranges from $21.55 to $32.32, plus bonuses and benefits. Total compensation varies based on location, experience, and other factors.
