Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Repair Station Welder. This position offers $5,000 relocation assistance.

Hours:

6:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Hourly rate: $38.00 per hour. Salaries are a general guideline and are based on skills, experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do
  • Weld using GTAW on Inconel & stainless steel alloys (thickness .020–.112") per AWS D17.1; certify in auto TIG, seam welding, laser welding, and brazing.
  • Fabricate details for tubes, hoses or duct assemblies by scribing, cutting, grinding and fitting to tight tolerances.
  • Evaluate, disassemble, inspect, disposition and reassemble customer field returns in accordance with component overhaul manuals and/or approved technical documents; perform all tasks to FAA, EASA and CAAC approved procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all FAA, EASA and CAAC approved procedures.
  • Prepare concise and accurate documentation packages for every repaired or overhauled unit.
  • Perform polishing, grinding, sandblasting, cleaning, spray coating to specifications.
  • Certify in auto TIG welding, seam welding and/or laser welding.
  • Perform testing of components using high air pressure and/or water under pressure per safety operation procedures.
  • Operate manual lathes and drill press, performing precision machining operations on metal components.
  • Read blueprints and work in accordance with standard shop practices.
  • Ensure quality through visual inspection and measurement using hand tools and gauges.
  • Follow general safety rules, train technicians, participate in continuous improvement, maintain a clean work area per 5S+ guidelines.
  • Ensure finished parts conformity to procedure, print or specification.
  • Be a team player, multi‑task, communicate effectively with customers and auditors, and perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications Basic Qualification
  • $5,000 relocation benefit offered.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year aerospace welding experience or 2 years TIG welding experience.
  • Position requires ITAR‑subject IAT access; applicant must be a U.S. person and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Understands CMMs, S/Bs, engineering drawings and repair sketches.
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
  • Associate or technical degree in machining/maintenance.
  • GTAW weld certification for titanium alloys (AWS D17.1).
  • Experience with aircraft engine accessories or Aircraft & Power Plant Mechanics license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • ERP (MFG Pro) experience.
Position Criteria
  • Read/write English.
  • Stand up to 8 hours a day.
  • Lift up to 35 lb on a regular basis.
  • Use both hands.
  • Pass vision test annually.
  • Understand visual weld inspection methods and use inspection instruments.
  • Advanced shop math and use of precision measuring instruments such as dial calipers, indicators, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint drawings and instructions.
  • Exposure to oil, dust, dirt, heat.
  • Certify in Auto‑TIG, seam, laser welding.
  • Participate in DOT random drug & alcohol testing program.
  • Wear PPE: apron, safety glasses, hearing protection.
  • Excellent metal fitting & fabrication skills.
