Commercial Lines Account Manager / Department Assistant Manager
Job SummaryThis role supports the servicing, retention, and growth of a Commercial Lines book of business while also contributing to departmental leadership and operational oversight. The position combines hands-on account management with mentorship, workflow support, and collaboration with leadership to strengthen service delivery and team performance. This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced commercial insurance professional seeking continued growth and expanded responsibility within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as a primary service contact for commercial clients while maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners and internal teams
- Quote, service, and retain commercial accounts in alignment with established production and retention goals
- Assist with or oversee complex or high-level client situations as needed
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies to strengthen and grow the Commercial Lines department
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to promote professional growth within the commercial service team
- Monitor departmental workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement procedures that improve agency operations and client experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license
- Extensive experience in commercial property and casualty insurance
- Demonstrated ability and desire to grow professionally and take on leadership responsibilities
- Strong computer skills and technical proficiency, including agency management software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to reliability, continuous learning, and collaboration
- Base salary range: $75,000–$90,000 + additional incentive or commission opportunities
