Repair Engineer – Aviation MRO

Location: Beltsville, MD

About

The Role

Our aviation client is seeking a skilled Repair Engineer to join their team in Beltsville, MD. In this role, you’ll work cross‑functionally within a fast‑paced, short lead‑time environment to develop new repairs for the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business. You’ll create component drawings, collaborate with procurement to identify suppliers, and partner with operations to deliver effective repair schemes that meet stringent aerospace quality and regulatory standards.

You’ll Do
  • Maintain a solid understanding of Aerospace Repair Station regulatory processes and approval requirements.
  • Develop repair processes, draft technical procedures, and ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and internal/industry EHS standards.
  • Provide proactive technical communication to internal and external customers.
  • Assist with internal document review and approval activities.
  • Navigate and interpret government regulations, FAA rules, Government Orders, and Advisory Circulars.
  • Support daily production by offering technical expertise related to repair procedures and product design.
  • Train production employees in repair processes and proper execution.
  • Support audits (customers, regulatory agencies, third‑party) and participate in corrective action activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an aerospace MRO/aftermarket repair station or manufacturing environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with technical writing and procedure development.
  • Strong understanding of Part 145 repair station quality requirements.
  • Experience interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, Government requirements, and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
  • Repairman’s Certification.

This is a Contract position based out of Beltsville, MD.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.29/hr.
