Job DescriptionThe Belton Area Office in the Waco District is looking for a Technical Project Manager 1 to deliver and oversee a variety of projects within Bell County. The office has over $200 million of active contracts with more work on the horizon, including IH 35 expansion, major bridge replacements, major highway rehabilitations, and a multitude of exciting other opportunities thanks to the considerable growth within the county.
This position will oversee, lead, and train a team of inspectors while acting as project manager on multiple projects. - Coordinates with local Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to develop annual Transportation Improvement Program and long and short‑range transportation plans for the area.
- Compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expenditures.
- Consults with Project Engineers, resident project representatives and contractors' superintendents on work progress and construction problems; reviews equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates.
- Directs, develops, implements, and evaluates project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections.
- Monitors and manages project cost and quality to ensure project is completed within budget and to ensure deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications.
- Oversees construction project assignments, determines work requirements to complete projects and coordinates scheduling to accommodate projects already underway.
- Provides technical assistance in resolving construction problems related to contract administration.
- Works with Federal Highway Administration representatives to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
5 years construction project management; project management, process engineering and/or business process improvement methodologies. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and CertificationsValid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
